Holes #5 and #6 Renovation Project
Members and Valued Customers of The Bay Pointe Club:
The Bay Pointe Club has begun the next phase of a thoughtful plan to renovate the golf course. The overall goal is to make The Bay Pointe Club southeastern New England’s premier golf destination and golf community, while also providing outstanding function facilities and comfortable clubhouse pub style restaurant atmosphere.
The scope of golf course work currently being undertaken consists of building two new greens on holes #5 and #6 including new bunkering, teeing grounds and introduction of native fescue grasses. The construction process is starting Wednesday, April 10th and is anticipated to be complete by mid-May. Mother Nature plays a big role in this process and with seasonally normal temperatures and rain fall our expectation is both holes will be open for play in mid to late June.
During this construction and growing time period both of these holes will be closed for play. Rates for play will remain in the “Flex Season”, $39.oo on weekdays and $45.oo on weekends (both including carts).
Welcome to The Bay Pointe Club
The Bay Pointe Club was built in 1964 and was known as Wareham Country Club until 1988. This was the same year that the Pavilion building was constructed and the famous 7th hole island green was created. Today, the Bay Pointe Club offers a unique collection of 18 championship golf holes designed by Geoffrey Cornish, a beautiful banquet facility, and a clubhouse which has a fully stocked pro shop and The Bay Pointe Grille, which is a perfect place for a meal or to just watch a game. Playing to a par 70 for the men, the course is rated 70.9 and sloped 122 from the back tees. The overall yardage may appear comparatively short on the card (6201 from Blue Tees), but it plays substantially longer. From the red tees, the ladies are challenged by a par 72, 5,380 yard course. Apart from holes #1 and #2, which challenge golfers beginning their round on the hilliest portion of the grounds, the terrain is generally gentle. The Bay Pointe Club never uses temporary greens. Our sandy base soil allows maximum drainage for off-season golf, making for a great winter golf retreat.
The Bay Pointe Club is located just minutes away from the charming historic village of Onset and sandy shores of Onset Bay. Our newly renovated banquet facility and clubhouse are both gracefully surrounded by an inviting new landscape design, creating the ideal setting for an elegant wedding event. All banquet and wedding menus are custom-tailored by our in-house Executive Chef. The professional banquet staff at Bay Pointe will ensure your special day is memorable and seamlessly executed from start to finish. Our personalized service and attention to detail cannot be matched!
